For many years, Christa has been an active member of two performance troupes in Calgary: Bijoux Bellydance (f. The Bedouin Dance Company) and Mythri Tribal Dance Collective (Calgary’s only bellydance troupe that performs American Tribal Style® belly dance). A dedicated student of dance, she has long studied under the mentorship of Heidi Hillman of Bijoux Bellydance and Christy Greene of Eighth Wonder in Calgary. She also frequently takes workshops with internationally recognized dancers and is currently pursuing specialized training programs with Suhaila Salimpour (Albany, CA), Carolena Nericcio (San Francisco, CA), Rachel Brice (Portland, OR), and Audra Simmons (Toronto, ON). Christa regularly takes other classes and workshops in support of her bellydance training such as West African dance, Flamenco, Djembe (West African) drumming, Doumbek (Middle Eastern) drumming, and Ballet. Christa is now very excited to ignite a spectacular Bellydance community in Lac La Biche, Alberta!
