Sara began belly dancing in 2011.  After trying several styles, she was drawn to the positive and proud form of American Tribal Style, which speaks to Sara’s love of strong community and her passion for music and movement. All these elements are woven together celebrating the past, present and future of communal dance.   In 2013, Sara attended General Skills/Teacher Training with masters Carolena Nericcio and Mehga Gavin. There, she earned her TT Certification.  Sara has Sister Studio status.

Sara is director of Helix, an ATS® dance troupe based in Greensboro, NC.  She is also one of the leaders of the Twisted Dance Collective, a group of teachers and performers who work together to produce shows, learn together and educate the local community about belly dance, middle eastern inspired dance, as well as American Tribal Style dance.

She continues studies with her teacher Mimi,  and attends as many workshops as possible to further her knowledge of American Tribal Style® bellydance. She is currently working towards her Sister Studio Continuing Education certification for the third year, and hopes to  attend Teaching for the Teacher and Advanced Teacher Training at the FCBD®  Mothership in San Fransisco in the future.
